Real Estate and Technology Through the Ages

Real Estate Technology and Real Estate Marketing Historically Speaking

I had a really interesting experience last week when I cracked my computer screen. I went into panic mode, wondering how I was going to survive a few days with only my iPad to manage my busy real estate schedule!

I made a few calls, found a great guy from PC Crisis who calmed my nerves and told me to come in and bring my beloved laptop with me! This guy in the PC Crisis logo resembled me on that fateful morning! It even made me smile, in my time of need!

Feeling much more relaxed, I ventured down to their shop in Cornelius and gave them my laptop.

This picture below greeted me and I was jolted back in time and was horrified, yet delighted at how far we have advanced - technologically speaking! Can you imagine how difficult it must have been working as a Real Estate Agent in yesteryear?

In days gone bye Agents would use a phone with a dial, have no answering service unless someone was there to take a message and write it in a book. One would be too nervous to leave the office if you were expecting an important call.

Imagine how difficult marketing must have been! With expensive and ugly printed ads in newspapers, its a wonder that homes were actually sold. Then of course I dread to think how offers across the country were presented, signed and accepted without a fax, email or dot loop. Courier companies and the USPS must have been Real Estate Agents greatest friends.

When I returned to reality, my computer had been repaired and I left PC Crisis with the knowledge and comfort that today my clients and I have so much technology at our finger tips. With social media marketing, listing marketing, search engine marketing, twitter and more our lives may seem more complicated, but definitely more streamlined.

Why don't you take advantage of technology and try out my search facility. Drill down right to the neighborhood you may be thinking about living in. The listings are comprehensive, with virtual tours and precise details. You have the taken for granted ability to find out about a neighborhood and community from the comfort of your home or office!

Drop me an email, call or text me - I would love to assist you when buying or selling your home!
